A rare and beautifully matched pair of Edwardian bedside cabinets, dating from the early 1900s and expertly upcycled by furniture artist Chloe Kempster. These exceptional antique bedside tables combine original Edwardian craftsmanship with a bold contemporary leopard design, resulting in a highly collectible statement pair for refined interiors.
Raised on elegant tapered legs and retaining their original brass handles, the cabinets celebrate classic Edwardian proportions and superior early-20th-century construction. To introduce a confident modern edge, the doors have been decoupaged using a luxury leopard-pattern wallpaper, then meticulously hand-painted to create a seamless, bespoke finish. The pattern flows organically around the sides and down the legs, elevating the piece far beyond traditional decoupage. A clear varnish seal ensures durability while maintaining a refined, high-end finish.
Inside, the cabinets have been thoughtfully refreshed in a rich, deep green, chosen to complement the dramatic exterior, while the reverse of the doors has also been painted for a fully considered presentation. The original mahogany tops have been sympathetically restored to natural wood, allowing the warmth and grain of the timber to provide balance against the decorative surfaces below.
Handmade over 100 years ago, these Edwardian cabinets are of outstanding quality and remain in excellent vintage condition.
