A one-of-a-kind hand-painted drinks cabinet by furniture artist Chloe Kempster. Named after her grandmother, Irene, who lived life to the fullest, this striking piece combines Victorian craftsmanship with contemporary artistry to create a truly distinctive statement for the home.
Crafted from solid mahogany, The Irene is a beautiful example of Victorian Gothic Revival design, featuring intricate carved scrolling around the glazed door and elaborately decorated solid wood legs. The cabinet’s elegant proportions and decorative detailing create a dramatic silhouette, while its bespoke finish transforms it into a piece that is both functional and collectible.
The cabinet has been fully stripped before being refinished in a sumptuous deep navy blue named Deadly Nightshade. Chosen to highlight the exceptional carved detailing, the rich finish creates a striking contrast against the hand-painted artwork and lends the piece a refined, contemporary presence.
Inspired by the wild meadows and daisies surrounding Chloe’s workshop, the bespoke floral glass panel has been painted entirely by hand in shades of blue, cream, yellow and soft pink. The artwork is sealed beneath a clear resin coating on the reverse of the glass, ensuring a durable finish while preserving the delicate detail of each brushstroke. The interior has been painted in a coordinating dark navy, creating a sophisticated finish throughout.
Please note: the artwork is painted on the reverse side of the glass, creating a layered effect that subtly shifts with the light and angle from which it is viewed.

Signed and dated by Chloe Kempster on the reverse, this original cabinet is entirely unique. No two pieces are ever the same. Presented in great vintage condition, the cabinet stands solid and sturdy, with the door and drawer operating smoothly. Gentle signs of age may be present, enhancing its authenticity and character.
