An Original Hand-Painted Victorian Chest of Drawers

The Flora is an original piece of furniture art by Chloe Kempster, created in her signature style of romantic, free-flowing florals.
This authentic Victorian pine chest has been thoughtfully restored and professionally refinished in a soft duck egg green eggshell — a timeless shade chosen to complement both period homes and modern country interiors. Its elegant turned legs and classic proportions honour its 19th-century heritage, while reclaimed pine handles introduce a gentle rustic character.
Across the drawer fronts, rambling peony and primrose stems unfold in Chloe’s recognisable painterly style. The florals are entirely hand-painted — no stencils, no transfers — in a restrained monochrome palette of cream, soft white and muted green. The composition is intentionally organic and expressive, allowing the artwork to feel both refined and quietly romantic.
Once complete, the design was sealed with a clear protective top coat to preserve the finish while maintaining its softness.
This piece is signed and dated on the reverse.

Condition
The drawers have been internally nourished with oil and the runners waxed to ensure smooth movement. One drawer base has been replaced with solid plywood to enhance durability and everyday usability.
The chest stands solid and sturdy. As a genuine Victorian antique, it carries subtle signs of age consistent with its history. The exterior has been refinished to a high professional standard, with smooth paintwork and sealed hand-painted detailing.

Standard delivery to mainland England is £85 and includes a one-person service.

Collection is available from Wilbarston, near Market Harborough, Leicestershire. Free delivery is offered for addresses within a 30-mile radius.
