This week saw the launch of the latest Finnabair Release from Prima Marketing Inc, and we're so excited because it's the first Finnabair release we've stocked at Little White Bird!

If you're drawn to vintage imagery, layers, texture, found objects, old-world details and beautifully aged finishes, there's a lot to discover in this new collection.

From A3 decoupage fibre papers and coordinating waxes to decorative moulds and clear crackle varnish, the new release is packed with products designed for getting creative — whether you're making an art journal, decorating a box, creating a mixed media canvas, embellishing a frame or transforming a piece of furniture.

So, who is Finnabair?

Finnabair is the creative brand of Anna Dabrowska, the artist and designer behind Prima Marketing's distinctive mixed media range.

Anna is known for her layered, atmospheric style, combining vintage imagery, botanicals, industrial elements, typography, texture and beautifully weathered details.

Her work has a wonderfully collected quality to it — the kind of aesthetic that makes you think of old photographs, forgotten letters, antique ephemera and treasures discovered at the back of a drawer.

And that feeling carries through into the Finnabair products.

They're made for playing, layering and experimenting, rather than simply applying one product and calling a project finished.

You might start with a piece of decorative paper, add some moulded elements, build up texture, introduce colour, highlight details with wax and finish everything with a little crackle.

There are no hard rules. That's very much part of the appeal.

Introducing the new Finnabair release

The latest release brings together four vintage-inspired A3 Decoupage Fiber Paper Sets, matching limited-edition wax sets, six new decorative moulds and the new Art Extravagance Clear Crackle Varnish Set.

The four paper designs each have a very different personality, making them easy to match to different creative projects and styles.

Archivist's Dreams

Romantic, nostalgic and beautifully old-world, Archivist's Dreams is filled with the sort of imagery that feels as though it has come from an old collection of photographs, papers and forgotten keepsakes.

Its soft, vintage aesthetic makes it particularly lovely for journals, scrapbooks, boxes, frames, collage, cards and decorative projects where you want a romantic, timeworn feel.

It would also work beautifully on smaller furniture and home décor pieces where you want to incorporate individual images rather than cover a large surface.

The coordinating Dreams Metallique + Matte Wax Set combines Dark Ice Metallique with Shabby Pink Matte Wax, giving you a beautiful way to highlight texture and decorative details.

Time Whispers

Time Whispers takes a more atmospheric, slightly industrial turn.

Clocks, gears, vintage portraits, handwritten details and weathered colour create a wonderfully layered aesthetic, with shades of aqua, dusty teal, aged ivory, lavender and antique gold.

It's a natural choice for art journals, altered books, collage, canvases, boxes and mixed media projects, particularly if you like combining vintage and industrial elements.

The coordinating Whispers wax set complements the colours of the paper design and can be used to add definition, highlights and an aged finish to your projects.

Mechanical Orchard

One of the most intriguing designs in the release, Mechanical Orchard brings together two very different worlds: botanical beauty and mechanical detail.

Delicate florals and natural imagery sit alongside industrial-inspired elements, creating that unexpected contrast that Finnabair does so well.

It's a great choice for mixed media, journals, collage, altered art, decorative boxes and home décor, particularly if your style sits somewhere between romantic, botanical and industrial.

The coordinating Orchard Metallique + Matte Wax Set combines Cotton Candy Metallique and Sage Leaves Matte Wax — perfect for highlighting raised details and adding subtle colour and dimension.

Steambound Visions

For something darker and more dramatic, there's Steambound Visions.

Inspired by the world of steam travel and vintage industry, the design combines locomotives, mechanical details, blueprints and vintage imagery with a palette of deep indigo, aged parchment, sepia and antique brass.

It's made for steampunk projects, altered art, art journals, collage, boxes, canvases and decorative pieces where you want a little more drama.

And, of course, it would also make a fantastic choice for furniture and larger decorative projects.

The coordinating Visions wax set pairs Amber Metallique with Faded Denim Matte Wax, bringing warmth and metallic highlights to the darker blue tones.

Why the A3 papers are so versatile

One of the things we love about these new Finnabair decoupage fibre papers is that they're not restricted to one particular type of project.

Each set contains two A3 sheets plus a third A3 sheet made up of six individual images, giving you a mixture of larger designs and smaller elements to cut, layer and combine.

That makes them especially useful for smaller creative projects where you can really play with the individual elements.

There's a lovely mix here, from woodland and winter imagery to gears, mechanical details and steampunk-inspired designs.

Use the moulds with suitable resin, clay and modelling materials to create dimensional embellishments for mixed media projects, journals, boxes, frames, canvases and home décor.

They can then be painted, distressed and highlighted with waxes to create even more depth.

And, naturally, they're also fantastic for furniture upcycling, where raised moulded details can completely change the character of a piece.

Create authentic crackle with Clear Crackle Varnish

Another exciting addition to the release is the Art Extravagance Clear Crackle Varnish Set.

This two-step, water-based crackle system creates transparent, antique-style cracks while allowing the colours and artwork beneath to remain visible.

That makes it incredibly versatile for vintage and mixed media projects.

Use it over paint, gesso, decoupage, collage and other suitable surfaces to introduce an aged, weathered effect without covering the design you've already created.

Once the crackle has developed, you can even emphasise the cracks with waxes, mica powders, pigments and other mediums, allowing you to customise the finished effect.

It's ideal for creating an aged finish on frames, boxes, canvases, decorative objects, journals and home décor, as well as painted and upcycled furniture.

Where will you take it?

That's probably the most exciting thing about this Finnabair release.

There isn't one obvious way to use it.

You might use Archivist's Dreams to create a romantic journal spread.

Cut individual elements from Mechanical Orchard for a layered collage.

Use Steambound Visions to create an atmospheric altered box.

Add a Finnabair mould to a frame and highlight the raised details with wax.

Or introduce some clear crackle to a painted surface to give it the appearance of age.

You can combine the products, mix the collections and layer different techniques to create something completely your own.

And that's what makes Finnabair so appealing.

It's less about creating something perfectly polished and more about building up layers, experimenting with texture and letting the finished piece evolve as you work.
